Pitch gives you the pick of the bunch from our Young Sports Journalist Competition 2023. On the following page you'll find some extraordinary writers and our winning entries revealed.

We challenged four age groups to consider some of the burning issues in sport. Each winner will receive a cash prize, top seed of the 19-21 age group also wins a work experience opportunity. 

With thanks to our judges - Matt Lawton of The Times, Sam Pilger of The Athletic, author and podcaster David Hepworth and the chief of Pitch Andy Afford. We hope you're reading the work of the future. They've certainly made a very good start.
