Inside every issue of Pitch magazine you will find stories, long and short, relating to the thick end of 30 different sports. It’s a genuinely groundbreaking remit and we think a first in the world of magazines. There’s football, cricket, rugby – both types – golf, MMA, boxing, athletics and F1. And loads of others. We think the mix works brilliantly. Because ultimately we are sports fanatics. First.
I like the Olympics. In the same way that I like the Rugby World Cup. And the Up’ards against the Down’ards at Ashbourne in Derbyshire. But I don’t love them like I do other events.
Shrovetide football is a bit daft. The rugby goes on for too long, and the Olympics and Paralympics is gone in a flash. But they all combine and add to the world of sport. With us sports fans appreciating them, without us having to love them to enjoy the storytelling and action.
We touch on the ‘five ring circus’ in this issue. We hope, adding to that central enjoyment by again – like we did with the football World Cup – shooting around the edges rather than serving as your definitive guide. Still, there are things to read throughout the mag that you won’t see elsewhere. Enjoy your magazine.
Pitch is a magazine for sports fans. All sports fans. And particularly all-sports fans. If this is you, then you’re already among friends.
We want to build a community around this magazine. Making it a place where we all opt in. A place where people are positive about their passions. And unafraid to tell their stories. A place where the sports we all follow, and how Pitch covers them, brings light and life to our lives. Serving as an oasis in what can in the day-to-day coverage of sports sometimes feel the ‘moaniest’ place on earth.

Read Now“Pitch is such an excellent title, and I think it's a great addition to the sports press. What I like about it is that it covers all sport, which is great, there was a gap in the market for that, for an all-round title. Excellent design too, the cover is beautiful. ”
